SOFIE 's success at Decentralized

Team SOFIE had its hands full during  Decentralized 2019  30.10 - 01.11. 2019 speaking, showcasing and socialising at Europe’s premier conference on blockchain that brought together the world’s leading business executives and academic experts to debate current trends and future developments of blockchain technologies.  

On the 31st of October Tommi Elo (Aalto University) from SOFIE consortium gave an inspiring speech at the conference about using system dynamics models to analyse the sustainability of SOFIE business platforms. The audience asked some interesting questions and that allowed Tommi to engage with the listeners and wider his talking point. 

On the same day SOFIE had the opportunity to present its three pilots during the two hour WORKSHOP "Interledger Technologies for Cyber-Physical Systems Federation with Security, Privacy, and Flexibility.- Practical applications to the Energy sector, the Food-Supply Chain, and Context-Aware IoT gaming. 

 The pilots were presented in the following order:

• SOFIE's energy data exchange pilot, presented by Priit Anton and Margus Haavala (Guardtime)
• SOFIE's energy flexibility marketplace pilot, presented by Giuseppe Raveduto (Engineering Ingegneria Informatica) 
• SOFIE's food supply chain pilot, presented by Artemis Tomaris (Synelixis Solutions SA)
• SOFIE's mixed reality mobile gaming pilot, presented by Max Samarin and Ahsan Manzoor (Rovio Entertainment Corporation)
  

The workshop was moderated by George Polyzos from Athens University of Economics and Business. 

Around 50 people attended the workshop. The SOFIE team got lot of insightful questions from the audience that allowed to discuss the topic of decentralized IoT systems on a wider manner. 


Additionally, SOFIE project was presented at Decentralized exhibition venue throughout the conference. The team has great opportunity to engage with the visitors and form contact with blockchain industry representatives. SOFIE will utilize the acquired exposure and new-formed networks in the future the next stages of SOFIE's development.  



With over 1500 field experts from over 50 countries attending, Decentralized was perfect place where to tell SOFIE’s story and highlight it’s potential.
